Pan IIT Alumni India (PanIIT) is an umbrella organization, representing alumni of all Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Pan IIT is a not-for-profit Society under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 with Registration No. S-56680 of 2006 dated 20 September 2006 duly registered with the Registrar of Societies, Government of NCT of Delhi, Delhi. It is the Indian legal entity of the global Pan IIT Alumni movement.
The movement, over the years, has developed and and spread in various parts of the world. Besides India, it has a very active presence in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Korea, Singapore, and Australia..

TECHNOLOGY | INVESTMENTS I GOVERNANCE I DIPLOMACY
IITians have been pivotal contributors in this technological evolution across the world. From founding groundbreaking startups to leading R&D at Fortune 500 companies, IIT alumni consistently push the boundaries of what is possible. Their work in AI, semiconductor design, fintech, climate tech, and space engineering has influenced global standards and accelerated progress in multiple sectors. IITians also play key roles in government, policy-making, and academia, shaping technology frameworks that impact millions.
IIT Alumni are a powerhouse in India’s startup ecosystem. Out of 108 unicorns, 68 have at least one IIT graduate behind them —think Flipkart or Paytm. IIT founders have attracted nearly half of India’s total equity funding in the past decade, driving fintech and deep-tech growth. With strong problem-solving skills and global networks, many are now shifting to the investor side as angels and VCs, pumping billions back into the ecosystem.
VC trends in India are also heating up. Funding is rebounding sharply—October alone saw $5.3B across 100 deals, up 81% year-on-year. H1 hit $5.7B, led by global players like Sequoia and Tiger.
Strong governance is a growth accelerator. Stable policies, low corruption, and faster bureaucracy have helped India shift from a “stalling” to a “scaling” economy. Reforms like GST, the Insolvency Code, and major digital infrastructure upgrades have improved India’s Ease of Doing Business by 29 ranks since 2016. Better courts and dispute resolution cut economic drag by 3.5% last year, while stronger institutions pulled in $21B in FDI, boosting manufacturing and jobs. Challenges remain—land laws and red tape still slow infrastructure—but good governance consistently turns disorder into economic opportunity.
Digital infrastructure shows how governance pays off. UPI now processes 12 billion transactions a month, powering small-business growth. Aadhaar’s 920 million verified IDs reduce fraud and speed up welfare delivery.
Diplomacy is powering India’s economic rise. Big deals like the India-EFTA pact and the US iCET partnership are unlocking investments, boosting chip and AI collaborations, and pushing FDI up 18% to $35B. Platforms like the Quad and G20 are strengthening supply chains and easing global market access, while smoother visas help India pull top talent. Geopolitical bumps remain, but overall, foreign policy is turning India into a magnet for capital and innovation.
Trade agreements amplify the momentum. India now has 13 FTAs and 6 PTAs, driving growth with neighbors like Bhutan, Nepal, and Bangladesh through low- or zero-tariff access.
